Power Steering yet again
I've done the search and watched a few of the videos and I"m still unsure. I will be replacing my power steering hoses and pump soon and want to make sure I use the correct fluid. One video states strongly that only Land Rover fluid should be used as it is specially formulated for OEM systems. Others are more generic as long as consistency is made. If I choose to use a NAPA or other brand pump, does it make any difference about what fluid I use? If the parts are all new I wouldn't think it makes much difference. Is there something I"m missing?
Thanks for any and all input.

I've used what I had....some is thinner some isnt. One thing I always do, take the back of the pump off, seal up that gasket and put the bolts back on. I always keep in mind what torque I pulled the bolts off, you gotta retorque that back on when you assemble it.
Just buy "Power Steering Fluid". Nothing super fancy or special. I personally wouldn't tear apart a new pump to reseal it. Buy one with a warranty and cross your fingers it lasts. I've had only one fail before it was a year old, my current has been great.

Thanks all. This is a project that I will have to get to soon and didn't want to screw up several hours work with the wrong fluid. So, consistency it is.
