Default Pressure testing D11

Looking for some insight into pressure testing for bad head gaskets. This is on a 03 D11 with 98k, so prime turf for HG failures. The tester was out after the throttle body heater failed and was replaced.

Post TBH, when I test up to 15psi, I'm seeing coolant slowly drip from the back of the motor. The rig will hold 15psi well though (>10mins). As I can see the leak, I would expect to see the pressure drop slowly. I'd infer the leak must be relatively slow. With the bad TBH, 10psi would drain away in ~5mins with coolant clearly hissing out.

I know this is more a when, than if, call on replacement, but has anyone run this test before replacing HGs and seen it hold pressure OK?

TIA,

Paul

I would replace the head gaskets before you get more damage.

Not easy or even pleasant.
But you can do it.

If you are seeing coolant at 15psi on a cold engine I would STOP driving before you toast your engine. Either do the work yourself or get it to a GOOD indie shop. DO NOT play around with the guessing game of what if's unless you want to replace your motor.
