had to put a cap on a couple trucks because when they welded up the cat's at the factory,they weren't tucked up close to the frame...Also if you have worn or broken motor mounts and don't catch it, it's gonna hit. It's a 1 dollar part and a a couple of minutes to cap it...

 

I still have mine on unfortunately... maybe I'll go down to the shop and cut it off tonight haha. Mongo, I have my disco in the shop right now, what photos do you want?

 

just of the shaft on the truck showing how much of the spline shaft is exposed...just pull the zerk, it sucks when they get buggered up and you have to drop the DS to fix it...

Can you guys elaborate on your concerns here? Im lost now. I dont have a lift of my own so its difficult to take pics of the underbody, but my new propshaft is installed and it looks pretty much like ZG's. Again the only thing I am worried about is how close the grease fitting on the tubing of the shaft is to the cats. I ulled the little rubber cap off to re-grease it and have not put it back on because I assumed the cats would melt it.

 

That's what mongo and Tom were saying, fill with grease and install either a flush mount grease nipple or a blanking plug.

 

ZG does your driveshaft hit that cross member?

 

Most likely yes when off roading. That's why many have cut it off, as I will soon.

 

Is that sitting on the ground on a lift (drive on lift?)? Looks like it may have rubbed on the front crossmember at some point
