No problem...understand you stiff competition, and that's where the bar is set...

For all you other guy's...If you got a problem with questioning the build quality of something as important as a driveshaft, I don't know what to say. The DS in question has been compared to a Tom Woods, and it's good to know the differences. For those looking for a replacement, it's a good option for a weekend warrior, but understand that what's being offered is only slightly better than stock, but not even close to what's used to build a Tom Woods. So stop comparing it to one.

Mongo, have you been able to strength test both side by side?

No, but I've seen the GBR ones fail, and Bill uses the same set-up...Problem is the cat's still cook the grease out of the centering ball and ujoints on the CV. They start to bind up and cause stress fractures in the cast flanges. The TW uses a custom flange which is stronger...

Whatever, like I said, hope Justin does well...

If this is the attitude of someone using a Tom Woods propshaft then I absolutely refuse to take TW products seriously or invest in one for that matter. And if I'm that serious about off-road capabilities then yes I will consider all my options for a capable strong propshaft. But for now my Disco remains an on-road daily driver and my only vehicle so anything better or improved VS the genuine design is good enough for me. Just keep up with the greasing and inspect your shaft during each oil change and grease if needed and I'm sure these propshafts will last a long time. Only time will tell.

I would like to see a Tom Woods drive shaft.
I have one of Justin's and it looks almost like the Tom Woods one on his site.
Mongo...
How do you know it isn't just as good as a Tom Woods and $100 less expensive?
I for one don't.

I'll add this the last price I saw going on a TW shaft the difference is $29.00 between the 2 shafts in question. Just FYI

Triar, you do realize logic like that is what creates threads like this.

I don't think any thread that touches on the topic of a driveshaft from Proshaft LLC can run under 10 pages.

I'm not sure that this shaft will only be suitable for a weekend warrior. If you are running a big lift and need a double cardan shaft or a custom length then this isn't for you, but it sounds like the pieces used to build it are much upgraded from stock. I would think that the axles and differential would break before this shaft. Am I missing something?

I'm done...what's sad is you guys settle for good enough when you can have a high quality, HEADY DUTY driveshaft for about 45 bucks more...

TRIARII -

Tom Woods has a very long standing reputation. I am new to the drive shaft world but when I was researching products I learned much about Tom Woods through a local 4x4 retailer here in Alberta Canada. This guy that owns the shop, well I know him well and his first recommendation was for a Tom Woods Shaft.

My only real reason for not buying a Tom Wood shaft was financial. I do believe that ProShaft is supplying a quality drive shaft and as I already said, I will be getting a couple more opinions on it from local Drive Line shops.
