under 2 inch I believe, you can use a 99-02 in a 03-04 but not the other way

I had the same question which I posted here:

https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...project-60308/

I compared my original factory shaft against the new BP Utah shaft. The difference is the latter uses a much longer spline which allows some flexibility in accomodating difference driveline lengths.

I would have liked to see that they came with a accordian type rubber grommet to protect the exposed splines. It will help to prevent road grit from getting into the spline cavity.

I installed a front prop from Proshaft January 2013. I thought that the sqeeking and grinding might be a pinion bearing. I did that job on my range rover years ago and didn't want to do it again. It turns out that the cardon joint did not have a drop of grease on it from Proshaft. It is seven months old and FAILED. I didn't even consider the shaft as a possibility because it was new. I am not happy. If I get around to it later I will post pictures of the joint. The yoke for the u-joint has grease. The pin is dry. For a company whose sole product is drive shafts, overlooking grease is unforgivable. I am now $800 and a total of two weeks between both repairs that I was without a vehicle. The first time I had a rental car which is not included in that $800. This time I had a motorcycle to use.
How many miles did you put on it in 7 months? That needle fitting is supposed to be greased every 3k-5k miles.. If you never lubed it, I don't know why you are blaming the manufacturer for it being dry....

See my other post. In short, if what you are saying is correct then I blame the manufacturer for not informing me that was necessary. 3,000 mile drive shaft maintenance is ridiculous for a daily driver. If I had known that, I would have bought a junk yard shaft, installed sealed universal joints and been done with it.

That brings up a question. LR recommends oil changes every 7,500. Most here wouldn't be caught dead going that long. For the purpose of greasing, which interval are we going with?

I recently found an older post with pictures on how to do this and I was shocked. First of all it is a ridiculous pain to have to do this 2-4 times a year and second the shop I got it from never told me about that cardon greasing but did tell me about the zerks. That thread I found with pix should be a sticky.

I know to some of you pros this isn't a big deal and I guess I'll learn to live with it but it blows.
