So. Disco 2 lovers...what is the best the correct and easiest way to make sure the pulleys are lined up?

Get a laser and shims that are .00001 mm thick and start putting them behind each pulley until that are all within .0000000001 mm of each other.

or, bolt everything up and put a belt on it.

There is no alignment necessary, if you have belt problems your pulley bearings could be worn. This could cause the belt to crab off track or slip off completely. Buy a replacement belt, check the pulleys by hand for wobble/excess movement, replace worn pulleys, keep old belt as spare (if not damaged).

Bolt them on and eyeball them. Just make sure that you don't mount any of the pulleys back to front, so that they're misaligned and eat up your serpentine belt very very quickly. DAMHIK.
It's really obvious when they're backwards, but if you're in a hurry you might miss it...
