Q on the TJM front bumper...
Cheers,
Paul
I couldn't figure out how you got a TJM so cheaply. Now that I see your profile pictures I see yours not only isn't a winch bumper but it also doesn't seem to be airbag compatible. Are there crush cans on your TJM like the ones on the TJM T15?
I'm pleased with mine as well and will be sourcing the winch tray in the near future. Only thing I don't like about it, is the location of the Antenna Tab. It is located on the driver side because it is the passenger side for the Auzzies.
Like ralpobell has stated, lucky8 got a huge discounted order and passed it along to us. I started a thread about wanting a no frills bumper, this bumper is perfect for me, Houston is flat, I don't have a need for a winch and this was a lot cheaper than having my original bumper re-done.
The bumper I have just happened to come with the truck I bought from a customer. I am not that familiar with the DII bumpers. I had front and rear TJM bumpers on a DI a few years about and was pleased with that set up. The winch mount that fits under the bumper seems to make it hard to really keep an eye on how the cable is spooling when you use the winch. It also seems as though at certain angles it might not be a sturdy a design. Never the less, it is a good looking and beefy bumper.
I just didn't see the winch mount, recovery points or the urethane TJM bumper stops on the bumper fitted to Wynhd's. It looked as though TJM made two different bumpers but I see that they don't, there are just a variety of options you can buy to outfit the piece as you see fit.
It would seem as though the typical going rate is $850 PLUS shipping and to have scored one of these bumpers for +/- $600 INCLUDING shipping is remarkable. But, then, Justin is a great resource for parts like this, he takes care of his customers and really is a valuable asset to the community.
