they may be built and representative of any other drive shaft on the market. but i have had 3 hondas, two civics and one accord that all went 250k+ without one time having to grease the propshaft. and never did the OEM prop shaft break open at a u joint. so what do you think it is that causes the sealed LR u joints on the front drive shaft to fail on the discos? is it their proximity to the cats? is it something else that i'm not aware of? im curious....

If you don't off-road a sealed u-joint at the front diff would likely last quite a long time, as would the the one on the rear propshaft.

 

so back to my original post. the drive shaft is the same but still if the drive line shop doesnt understand the placement of the drive shaft on your discovery and its proximity to the cats.... my truck was never off road since the day it came off the lot till when i bought it in May and in June the u joints were going and i had it rebuilt.

 

But it's a simple matter to tell them it lives 3/4" from the cat.
