quick brake question
This past weekend I was going to change my brake pads but found a jacked up lug nut (btw I would like to thank spike for suggesting somewhere that you should check your lugnuts after tire service even if you ask them not to torque them back on with an impact wrench.... So thanks spike you saved me some sanity as the stuck lug nut was on the last wheel I was going to do) So my question is should I change the back pads while I am waiting for the service center to order me a new nut or should I just wait and do them all at once next weekend? I plan on bleeding them as well at some point.
Wouldn't hurt anything, just make sure you open your bleed screw before you compress the calipers. You don't want all of that jusnk going back up the line. Your rears will last you longer than the fronts anyways, but a week shouldn't matter anyway.
It will extend your break in period, and the rears will break in before your fronts and you can't do the final set before the fronts are ready.

Do you happen to know what size socket I would need? I thought about doing that at first but I wanted to make sure I got the lug nut paid for by the service center before I started ripping the thing off with a dremel.
Will do and thanks for the replies. Since I have never changed pads before I am going to list what I have and see if there is anything else I should get: EBC Pads, C-Clamp, Brake cleaner, anti-squeal spray, metric sockets. (The bleed I will do next week) BTW is it cool to drive around with a stripped lug nut? I am assuming that thin plating has nothing to do with the intergrity of the bolt.
