Default quick question or two about front cover and oil switch

Hi all, working on a 2002 disco ll
1. Can loose front cover bolts cause low oil pressure at idle?
2. bought new pressure switch from AB and they told me I needed an adapter as well even though the pressure switch harness does not have a plug in for the adapter. Should I cut into the harness wire and splice in the new adapter.

Thanks for your responses in advance.

Anything's possible. So while you have the switch out, how about a manual gauge oil PSI test, and then you will know the health of your oil pump. They can crack and not pump strong enough, also can just wear out. AB has kit of water pump gasket, cover gasket, front crank seal, and oil pump parts for about $110.

Would take it your oil light coming on at idle? Please also see https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...estions-46975/
