Default Radiator Leak

Hey folks,

I have a small leak where the aluminum core of my radiator meets the side tank. Has anyone had any success in patching this type of leak?

Just order a new radiator from radiator express. The leak will only get worse as the side tank separates from the core. It's pretty easy to change.

Yeah you either need to buy a new radiator or take yours out and take it to a radiator shop to have it fixed.
You can do a temp repair with JB-Weld but who knows how long that will hold.

Thanks, guys.

Local shop says it's not fixable since the leak is between the aluminum and plastic. I'll order a new radiator and use some JB Weld in the meantime.

Also, what is the difference in the radiator for secondary air?

if its strong enough to hold my ex wifes face to the bed post it should hold the radiator together...

I don't know what I win, but I won!

We'll see if it holds true, but the difference is in the location of the hose inlets / outlets on the radiator. Apparently, the coolant hoses on a SAI vehicle are routed differently than a non-SAI vehicle.

I will probably order from radiator express and they said they only have 1 radiator that will fit the DII and they have never had one returned.

I guess I will find out if it fits since I have SAI, huh?

I am currently running their radiator and I don't have SAI. It was identical in every way to the factory radiator and I got it for $219 shipped. That was significantly cheaper than anywhere else.

I dont know why the radiator shop wont rebuild it, they do that sort ot thing all the time.
But hell, if you can get a new one for $220 you cant go wrong.

Even better than $220, I paid $209 delivered and it will be here tomorrow. That rocks. I just hope it fits!
