Default Radiator Leak

Hey folks,

I have a small leak where the aluminum core of my radiator meets the side tank. Has anyone had any success in patching this type of leak?

Thanks.

Just order a new radiator from radiator express. The leak will only get worse as the side tank separates from the core. It's pretty easy to change.

Yeah you either need to buy a new radiator or take yours out and take it to a radiator shop to have it fixed.
You can do a temp repair with JB-Weld but who knows how long that will hold.

Thanks, guys.

Local shop says it's not fixable since the leak is between the aluminum and plastic. I'll order a new radiator and use some JB Weld in the meantime.

Also, what is the difference in the radiator for secondary air?

That is the $20,000 question.

If you can find out you win.

I don't know what I win, but I won!

We'll see if it holds true, but the difference is in the location of the hose inlets / outlets on the radiator. Apparently, the coolant hoses on a SAI vehicle are routed differently than a non-SAI vehicle.

I will probably order from radiator express and they said they only have 1 radiator that will fit the DII and they have never had one returned.

I guess I will find out if it fits since I have SAI, huh?

I am currently running their radiator and I don't have SAI. It was identical in every way to the factory radiator and I got it for $219 shipped. That was significantly cheaper than anywhere else.

Even better than $220, I paid $209 delivered and it will be here tomorrow. That rocks. I just hope it fits!
