Question Radio acting weird

My radio start sounding off when it feels like. I turn on my radio and everything looks right, I can see the display, toggle the switches and it changes stations, I can go to all menus, change from radio to CD and viceversa, etc etc all is good except that I can't heard anything, no sound no music. Then after few minutes, out of the blue, bam, the music/sound cames on. What's going on? Any help?

I had a faulty switch on the steering wheel controls, it would randomly mute the radio. You could try disconnecting the steering wheel controls, maybe in the column but I haven't done this myself.
