Trans acting funny
I have a 04 D2 with 64k and the tansmission seems to shift "funny" or is this normal to LR? When starting off from standstill it seems to shift into 2nd and 3rd very fast, like not going through the rpm's correctly. It kicks down like should and if I start off fast it seems to stay in rpm range longer. Does this seem normal?

"shift into 2nd and 3rd very fast" that 's a very relative statement. Fast to me may be slower than it is to you, soooo.
Yes, the '04 Disco goes through gears quickly (Can't answer for other years, but I am sure that they are the same in this aspect), but keep in mind that this is dependent on the engine load, throttle angle, and speed. The more throttle you give her the longer she will stay in a gear (closer to redline). If you sissy foot the throttle it is going to shift quickly up gears. This is because the Disco is a pig and eats gas like my neighbors kids eats his buggers in the front yard. It is actually trying to save you some gas.
How about you go out and give it about half to three quarter throttle from a stop. I bet she stays in the lower gears longer until she is up to speed. Also the "Sport" mode will make it hold gears longer, but I have noticed this really only happens if it is almost floored.
Chances are it is fine, it certainly does shift different than any other vehicle I have owned.
Hope that helps a bit...
