For radio/cassette player "high line models", needing special Land Rover tool 86-006, ANYONE HAVE DIMENSIONAL DATA, DETAILS, TO MAKE TOOL? I know I can repair radio (have done radio/TV repair for over 50 years), but I first need to get radio out; special tool is needed, 86-006. I have radio security code, so that won't stand in the way of repair, once radio is out. Can anyone help? If you have special tool, are you willing to measure dimensions for me, enabling me to make one?) If not, is it a dealer only tool?

 

I haven't tried it, but I've heard that you can use the metal hangers from an office file folder hanger?

Just be careful. I used a cheapo folder and sliced the crap out of one hand in the process of pulling it out (predictably). What I found works better is unlock with the tools then pull from the tape deck.

I just took mine to a car stereo shop and had them pull it for $10

 

I also read about this folder hanger trick. Sounds fun. I'm gonna replace my radio in the next couple weeks so I'll try it out.
