Default Random “Clacking “ Noise Disco II

(Also posted in general forum…sorry for the extra, will try and remove)
Have had my Disco II for years and stopped driving her when “clacking” noise became more frequent. Seems to be lower in motor (louder around oil pan). Some days would make noise, some days no noise. Oil pressure looks good, but thinking it may be the oil pump? Any thoughts or similar situations out there? Thanks much!

Wow, that is strange. I am guessing that is the sound of a cracked flex plate. Does not sound like a slipped liner or other engine issue.

She shifts great no issues, haven’t tried low 4. Do you think the randomness goes more with the plate? The noise goes away at random times, whether hot or cold motor, driving or idling. Just trying to find a place to start. Thank you, will try and do the listening trick and see if I can pinpoint it better.

Never heard that sound before but I have seen broken flex plates. Almost anything in the engine would not be random, so that is why I am thinking flex plats.
