So, Bosch 4.6 out of 99-01 RR HSE will work in an 04 Disco, correct?

Yes, a Bosch 4.6L from a P38a will work on an '04 DII. However, as mentioned by others, if your DII has secondary air injection you will need retain that system when swapping engines. So, if the 4.6L out of the P38a was not equipped with SAI, and your DII is, you will need to retain the DII heads. Otherwise the EFI ECU for your engine will have issues with the P38a engine's lack of SAI.

Some did, others didn't. The ports for SAI are in the heads so they are what really matter.

BTW, you should be able to find a good 4.6L engine for a lot less that $5700! AB has re manufactured 4.6 short blocks for $5k. That's re manufactured with zero miles. Give Will Tillery or Marty Powell a call for a 4.6 when you're ready.
