Default Rear Diff weight mount - help needed & bolt size

On the trail a few weeks ago had a "friend" blow my rear diff. He replaced it personally. He told me my QT diff guard that wraps over and under the diff had taken a beating over many trail rides and was cracked about to come apart. I have another diff guard I finally ordered last week on its way in the mail.

Fast-forward to yesterday a block from home I hit a pot hole and heard a noise and then scraping all the way home. Looked under and my diff guard is gone and my rear diff weight mounting plate is dragging the road held on by the cable. I haven't gotten under for a more detailed look yet, but hoping someone can give my a pic of the weight mounted as I do not recall the mounting exactly and bolt size needed as I assume they are gone as well.

Well, that would explain why the diff guard and weight are both not attached. It has been a few years since I installed the rear diff guard, but I do recall the mounting now as the weight ended up on my chest Thanks!

Can anybody give me the bolt size needed to reattach the weight?

The thread size/pitch is M10 X 1.25 but I don't know the length. Should be easy enough to determine with a depth gauge. But if I had to take a GUESS... about 30 to 35mm with a washer, or 25mm if it's a flanged bolt. Whatever you do get Grade 10 bolts!
Good Luck.

This reminds be... I should probably get the safety cable for my weight fixed, completely rotted out.

Anyways if you still need the length by tomorrow I can pull mine out and check for you.

That weight has been off my rig for over 10 years with no ill effect.

Thanks for all the help.

The tapped hole in the housing is about 21mm deep, and the heavy L mounting bracket is about 6mm thick, so about 27mm total and then the extra layer of the skid plate mounted on the flange for the bottom mount that is maybe 2-3 mm thick of the wrap-around style diff guard. I think I will go with 25 mm flange bolt. I think I will try some lightweight loc-tite and/or a star-type lock washer this time around
