Default Rear Door Actuator or not?

I have read through the forum and don't see different symptoms for a bad actuator vs one that just needs to be cleaned.

My rear door will lock but not unlock. It has been like this for a few years now - and jumping the seat is getting old.

About a week ago I had the symptoms of the lever getting stuck, so I popped the emblem and cleaned and lubricated. - Problem solved.

So before I spend a bunch of money replacing the actuator, does anyone know if it were shot why would it still lock the door? Or is this the symptoms of an actuator that just needs to be cleaned?

My 2004 did the same thing. I took the door panel off to see what was going on, unpluged the actuator, plugged it back in and now nothing. No power back there at all. Looking for input as well.

if it locks and do not unlock the only permanent solution is replace whole latch
the selenoid is part of the latch all the WD40 solutions wont work or last long
