Rear hub replacement/Tool
Has anyone managed to swap a rear hub on a D2 with the use of non pneumatic tools?
Is there a special Land Rover only tool or will a standard puller suffice?
Any tips on how to get these buggers off would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Once you get the big center nut off and the four 15mm head bolts out that hold the hub to the axle housing, you can use a generic (heavy duty) puller to remove the hub. The axle will bottom out inside the differential as its pushed through the hub. Once it bottoms out, the hub will start to slide out of the axle tube. This could all be made much more difficult if the truck is rusty...use lots of penetrating oil!
That's what I did. I cleaned everything up and oiled the o-ring then used a dead-blow hammer to get it close. Then I pulled it in the rest of the way with the bolts.
Make sure you pick up some retaining compound for the splines! Not a threadlocker, but the retaining stuff for bearings on shafts, etc. You need to seal them so it won't leak gear oil and also to fill any spaces between the shaft splines and the hub so there is no movement. I used Loctite 609 on the advice of the manufacturer. The 609 lets you take the pieces apart without heat.
