Rear Suspension Question 04 Discovery
Thanks for all the insight....Haven't yet decided yet if I will do the airspring replacement of the change over to coils. I was reviewing the Rave manual with respect to changing the airsprings and it mentioned using "testbook" to depressurize the airpsring before removal and then to pressurize the new airspring after replacement. What is this?
When I'm operating the truck daily, it is still holding air pressure and level. It is when I don't drive it for a day or two that it loses pressure. If it is in a pressurized state when I go to change it out, what's the best way to de-pressurize it? Also, when I've re-installed the new bag, do I need to run the truck and allow the compressor to fill the new bags completely or partially before putting the wheel back on?

After you reinstall the airbag, to get it to seat right, you need to turn the iginition on and open and close the door to get a little air to make the spring semi solid to shape, Do not overfill as you wont get it to seat or worse blow up the airbag. When you get a little air in there, start to lower the jack and make sure it seats right. Then you can turn the truck on and it will self level. Make sure you have the tire back on when you do this last step. Thats it. The first time i did it it took me a hour and a half and i had never done it before and also was in my driveway. Make sure when you do the drivway is level.
Good luck, its pretty easy.. i would change to coils though..piece of mine...
