Rear view (backup) camera

Ok. Boston is warm now, so I'm resurrecting this thread.
I got a wireless kit for my dad, but he didn't want it, so I've inherited it. I'll be trying to tap into the RH reverse lamp to power the transmitter and camera. I'm going to try and thread the wiring through the tail gate door handle area to get it into the rear door.

Ok, I did it today. Box open to all washed up and playing with the kids, 2.5 hours.
I bought this thing from Amazon:
I didn't take pictures as I went along, but I'll describe it for you.
Remove license plate from bracket.
Remove everything from the inside of the rear door: subwoofer, door handle inset, handle bolts, and then the whole inner door card. I broke 4 of the little red tabs. Not bad, I didn't replace them when putting the door back.

Remove RH upper tail lamp
Disconnect tail lamp and set aside
Open little vent thing on inside of rear tailgate in cargo area:

Splice in transmitter wiring to the RH reverse lamp. I used the little Scotch Lock taps that came with my kit. I hate those things, but it was easier than proper splicing. I'll fix it later if I have to.
For my kit, I could just feed the wiring down through a small square hole down inside the RH tail lamp opening. This leads into the interior in that little cubby space. Cool.
Replace RH tail lamp.
Drill a big hole in the rear door just to the left of the right hand side license plate mounting screw hole. Careful not to drill through any of the wiring on the inside of the door. You could also go through rear door handle/license plate lights area, but I didn't feel like messing with more of the vapor barrier to take off the exterior handle. Drilling felt fine for me. No garage queen here!
I placed the included grommet into the hole after feeding the camera wiring through the hole into the door interior.
Slice the water shedder (aka vapor barrier) on the far left near where the wiring goes through the door so you can get your hand in there.
Tape the camera wiring to a stiff wire pull like a wire hangar.
Pull the rubber boots off in three places: door jamb on door side, door jamb on body side, and inside the little cubby under the RH tail lamp. This will let you wiggle things around a bit more flexibly.
Guide the wiring through the rubber boot. This was easily the most annoying of all things. Just keep at it and try and straighten out the path as much as possible.
I connected the transmitter power (from the RH reverse lamp splice) and the camera output to the wireless transmitter box and zip-tied the box to the little vent insert thing to keep it from rattling around in the big open space:

Tape up the barrier, put the rear door back together, and voila. You're done.
I bought this thing from Amazon:
Peak PKC0RB Wireless Back-Up Camera System with 3.5-Inch LCD Color Monitor : Amazon.com : Automotive
. The display I got doesn't look like that one, but looks like identical to this one
for some reason. Who knows.I didn't take pictures as I went along, but I'll describe it for you.
