Red Service Engine light on D1...real quick...
#2
The red service engine light on a D1 is an emissions reminder that comes on at about 90k. in the right front kick panel there is a brown relay with a land rover sticker on it. I've read that this can be reset by sticking a length of straight metal (coat hanger) through the hole under the sticker. I had no such luck. You can either replace the relay (if you live in a state where they check emissions) or remove the relay altogether (if you don't live in a state where they check emissions).

It is very easy to reset the emissions light, well, at least it was for me.....There are a number of threads on the forum or check in the RAVE CD. Find the box as mentioned, peal back the sticker, use an awl or long piece of stiff wire or steel rod, anything will work and push the reset button. That should shut the light off. I had to mess around with mine for a few minutes til I was able to push the right spot and reset the system. The only difficult part was trying to climb into the passenger side footwell....Good Luck.
