Got tired of my discolored and rough fender flairs but wasn't about to buy new ones at the dealer.
Sanded with 80, then off to 200 and 400.
I found it easier to do on the car - i taped off and when I had to get close to the edge i used a skinny putty knife to protect the paint.
After sanding, I used an air compressor and clean, then 3m wax removal spray to make sure it was clean.
I used a quick coat of Bulldog adhesion promoter and then SEM 39103 Bumper paint. At this point i could still see some imperfections from sanding and it wasnt quite drying to the finish I wanted. I then used a few light coats of SEM texture
coating - this was the best part of it. It hid my imperfections and gave me the texture of oem. A few more top coats of bumper paint and i was set.
One of my flairs was pretty lose so it came off. Some 3M VHB and it was back together. I was a pain to get the old adhesive or tape off the body and the inside of a flair but doable.
Looks Great. I have used SEM products for many interior plastic parts and though not inexpensive the quality of the product is worth it. Me on the other hand, I just deflated mine.
