Yes it came with a remote. You can buy a used one but will need a computer to program it(autologic, testbook, tek pro, hawkeye, etc.)

Key- you need to:

1) call land rover and see if they can make a key based on your VIN

2) see if a really good locksmith can make a key

3) buy a new ignition, drivers door handle, and matching key.

Good luck.

Basically what abran said... If you don't know you're local LR dealer, grab your title as proof of ownership and stop by to ask them if they can help you out. I'd bring some lube with...it might hurt a bit

Anybody reading this that don't have an extra key go buy the 2 for $5 blanks off of ebay and have them cut for a few dollars for spares....It could save you $500-$1000 down the road....a land rover is not something you want to only have one key for!

They're not the "pretty" ones with the black plastic, but Paul Grant gave me this tip....Go to a True Value Hardware and have an extra key (or 2) cut. They looked at me like I was an alien for asking if they could cut a Rover key, but after I insisted they look at the RV-4 blank like Paul told me....guess what? It's the right blank. Cost me $3.30 or something.

So if you're near a TrueValue....Ilco RV-4 blank and you're good to go.

Does anyone know if a Snap on Verus will program a Disco keyless remote?

Crown ace hardware has ones with the pretty black plastic ends, same rv4 blank.

Not sure about the snap on tool doing the programming.

Sounds like good advice, just ordered 2 blanks tonight to avoid this situation.
