Replaced driver window regulator, motor works but won’t raise?

Replaced driver window regulator, motor works but won’t raise?

replaced front driver window regulator. Installed, window won’t raise but will lower (if raised by hand, i can lower). Is this common? Weak motor? All parts are greased and moveable. Order a new motor? Does anyone have a front driver side window motor?

Maybe a weak Motor or there is a problem with the ground. Also, are you sure you have the gaskets pressed into the slot at the front and back of the windows? It doesn't take a lot of friction from those gaskets to stop it.

Based on my experience and the experience of others reported here, it's likely the plastic hub between the motor and the reduction gear output has failed. The output gear will turn if 12v is applied under no load, but it will not turn when a load is applied. A new motor is $34 shipped from Lucky8.

I have had more weak motors than bad regulators. When I have a window issue, I just replace both. Both parts are under $100 total. If you are taking the panel off, just replace both to be sure.
