So after following the advice of min01 I have re-read the article by Josh and decided to do the Opt B mod. I have just completed it and found that it was not as difficult as I thought. Didn't remove the ABS Modulator... just raised it as discussed in the article.

I did find the some of the clips were brittle and snapped (ugh) but doesn't seem to cause any issues. Here are some pictures from the 'procedure'.

Now comes to waiting... will the 3 Amigos disappear?? I hope so. Next project / need to do is the engine. Front cover, HG, etc etc.... here is hoping that I don't run into any 'really' bad issues on that one. Love Land Rovers!!

Cheers! thank you for all the great advice / time that you put into replying.

Replaced the SVS and the plunger seals (from Falconworks) and within two days, "Presto!"...3 Amigos again.

Do I need to clear codes now that I've done the SVS replacement or should've these cleared themself? Before SVS and plunger seal replacement, I'd feel brake system "shuddering" when the 3 Amigos popped up; nothing when they pop up now.
OK...got an Autel 619 and cleared the fault codes yesterday. I've drove it three times and no codes...yet. I'll keep my fingers crossed. I've not been experiencing the pedal "shudder" when the '3 Amigos' popped up since replacement of the SVS and plunger seals, so I'm hoping clearing the codes will keep the Amigos at bay.

Spoke too soon...Amigos are back. I'll have to download codes to see if anything has changed.

Highly recommend that you read through this: https://web.archive.org/web/20131103...m/abs-mod.html

mln01 has pointed out that the Option B fix should correct the 3 Amigos for me... I think it should do the same for you... but read the article and choose for yourself. Cheers!

Cool Returning 3 Amigos

I too am trying to rid the 3 Amigos lights and after reading and trying many suggestions and fixes I'm getting nowhere. Also, some of the suggested links are dead.

I am new to this LR so please be patient with my discriptions, etc. as I am a Senior (70+)

I purchased a ABS Amigo v1 when I discovered my 3 lites on as suggested somewhere. Replaced the ABS Shuttle valve assy as this indicated via the v1 that this was at fault. Reset the codes and lights and all remained good when the lights disppeared. A few days later the lights were back. I should also mention that before I purchased the Amigo v1 I did the option B (maybe I didn't do it correctly?) that I discovered here 1st but nothing changed so that's when I bought the v1.

The v1 readout is as follows:

1.--Current Faults---->
Active Faults:
None
Logged Faults:
016:Shuttle valve long term fail
<-END Faults
------------------------------------------------------------
* *
------------------------------------------------------------
..--Previous Faults--->
Active Faults:
None
Logged Faults:
016:Shuttle valve long term fail
<-END Faults
------------------------------------------------------------
* *
------------------------------------------------------------
..--Previous Faults--->
Active Faults:
None
Logged Faults:
016:Shuttle valve long term fail
<-END Faults

I have read many previous posts here but I'm only getting more confused (age?). Anyway, if anyone could help me decifer what the v1 readout means and what to do about it, it would be greatly appreciated and hopefully something I can do myself.

Thanks in advance to anyone who an help this 'Senior'.

I just have to say that Option B is brilliant! Don't hesitate to give it a go. https://web.archive.org/web/20131103...m/abs-mod.html

I had replaced the shuttle valve to no avail. Codes still pointed to an issue with the SVS. I'm very glad to have stumbled across this and performed the mod two days ago. Happily, the amigos are on siesta and all systems functioning as they should.

Cheers!
