Replacement or continue the suffering?
ZG: After having lockers in previous rigs, I really do appreciate them more now that I'm not locked. ARBs front and rear are on my list of to-do whichever direction I head. Momentum also can break more things. That day was really more of a test run.
Coors: I'm not sure which hill in specific there was question to. The rock face - no. The first hill in the vid, yes, but on the left, easy path instead of the middle.
Awesome to hear that you can find a 2004 without sunroof(s).
Do the trucks out of the salt belt get corrosion on wiring in Rovers or is this only a New England thing? I'm wondering how terrible a wiring harness swap would be on one of these trucks.

Go with Ashcrofts.
A wiring harness swap would be awful, and most of the corrosion happens at the connectors so you'd be better off replacing those.
With that said however, it CAN still function on one axle and not the other -- it does it's best job it can. For example - in the ice and snow currently if I mash the brakes, the front abs is still functional, while the rear isn't due to my bad wheel sensor on the right.
Another tidbit -- When your truck is in low range - press the mode button on the trans and verify your electronics believe you're in low range - That also makes quite a big difference. If the high/low range sensor switch isn't working, it'll put it in and out of sport mode, instead of manual. I replaced my high-low sensor switch with a toggle in the cab. Now, I can flick it back to high range electronics wise and shut the truck off without having the system go into its fits about turning on already in that mode.

And yep, that's where the majority of my wiring nonsense is -- in those blasted connectors they used to join all the wires.

Sorry to dig up an older thread -- but I still do have a question.
The corrosion on the wiring (connectors mainly) that I suffered in my first Discovery2 -- Does that happen on a truck from the south?
I ended up dumping my truck for a nice low price. I got tired of chasing the electronics. The kicker for me was the sometimes working OBD2 port... When I can't run my scan tools to even find OUT what the next error is -- I'm done.
So, now I'm on the hunt for another one. In a perfect world, I'll find a 2004 without sunroof(s) completely rust free and a blown motor.
