replacement key
I have heard two different things on this subject. My wife slammed her key fob in the rear door, so i have to get a new one.
My shop says I can get a used key off of ebay and he can program it to work.
Other things i have read say it is not possible and I need one with bar codes or something like that.
Please guide me!

I went to get a key made for te door just incase a lock out and te guy says after he put it in his reader for chips , he said mine don't have a chip? 1999 is that possible? Don't want to put it in ignition and find out I messed up something.
$6 metal keys:

I bought the rubber coated keys off eBay, $10 for a pair with free shipping. Bring the key to any locksmith and they can cut it. Its a pretty standard key, ilco mv4-p. The locksmith would probably have them in stock...
For reference this is what I got on eBay:
