Default Replacing the airbox flex hose?

Looking to replace the fabric flex hose circled in red with something less prone to falling apart and more water tight. Any ideas?

It's part of a kit it appears, I can't seem to find it by itself as a part number.

Use a quart size oil bottle.

I had to remove it when I installed my snorkel and when I reinstalled it I wrapped it with several layers of duct tape. Seems to be holding up pretty well and water proofed enough for me.

You will only find it either at a salvage yard, call Paul Grant, or from the dealer.

Hmm, I guess I'll just wrap it in duct tape. I installed a snorkel and this seems like the weak link.

The weak links are your breather tubes and V8 engine. If you are up to that flex hose in water, you're probably already in trouble.

In trouble? Yes, but stranded? No. You can easily go deeper than the hood as long as you manage to keep traction.

If you're deeper than your hood you've:
Gone deeper than all your breathers
Gone deeper than your ECUs
Gone deeper than your spark plugs
Gone deeper than the battery
Gone deeper than your MAF sensor

While it's possible if you've maintained a wake, I would never do it, nor would I suggest it. You'll only see me doing that sort of thing in an older diesel Defender...
