Default Returning cel codes P0300 p1316

The other day I replaced my wires and this light came back, runs fine except when I hit the brakes and slow way down I get alittle surge or residual power from the engine. Also power steering is hard when stopped in both dirrections rolling its ok Ive been changing the fluid but I guess it wont help. Anyone know about these two codes? thanks

They are misfire codes. Check your connections something is not right.

When did you last change your p/s fluid, how about your belt and tensioner, are they still tight?

Question

The main thing is when I slow down to turn the check engine comes on with the 2 misfire codes. like a power surge but not on excelleration.

I shortened the hose on the pump because of leaking and have turkey basted it several times now the belt is good and pump is quiet but kinda weak.

If the pump isn't dead yet, and it's quiet, throw a can of Lucas p/s additive in and see if it will free up the valving, possible cheap fix before going and spending the big bucks.
