Default Rubber Bell housing Plugs

I was checking under the disco today, just a routine check to make sure there were no new leaks etc...When I noticed that one fo the rubber plugs on the Bell housing were missing. Not sure how long its been gone, couldn't be more than a couple thousand miles when i did my last oil change as i think i would've noticed it then.

Could me driving with this plug out and with all the bad weather cause me a bigger issue? Do i need to do anythng before putting the plug in? I ordered a new one but it won't be in until tues/wed at the earliest and this is my daily driver. Is it OK if I drive without it?

Any help apprecaited

Thanks
Joe

As long as you don't go wading through 30" of water, you will be fine. If you want, you could patch the hole with a piece of duct tape, just for peace of mind.

You're welcome, but I want to know what the heck store did you go to that had one in stock?!! I had to wait days for the dealership order some when I replaced mine (oil swelled and wouldn't fit any longer).

Ha...yeah its a local store, coneccted with Federated I think. But i found out through my mechanic that they carry alot of OEM parts. This is the place where the mechanics at his place get all their parts for side work. Part they had is an actual landrover part so pretty happy and i guess I got lucky they had these plugs in stock.
