Default Safe Temperature Specs (Transmission)

The PO of my vehicle installed a transmission temperature gauge which reads between 100F-360F. I usually see sub 100F temps while driving on the hwy, but in stop and go traffic I see upwards of 220F (without running AC). I wasn't sure what is too hot and what I should do if it ever comes close or over the limit. I have never seen the transmission temp warning light come on while road or off road driving. But want to know what temp would trigger the light.

I was also curious to what the safe operating temperatures were for all of the fluids in the vehicle. most notably, water temp, oil temp, transmission, and transfer case (if there is a gauge, I don't remember of the top of my head if there is one). Also has anyone measured diff fluid temps? Idk how you would check it but it would be cool to know

Like most things cooler is better, the D2 came with external trans cooler which is sort of best case scenario. Have never heard of one burning the trans and I have towed at or above max tow capacity several times. Trans temp should not get much over 220. Engine oil temp usually runs about 15 degrees above engine temp.

I got stuck on a 20 degree slope in the snow and in my many attempts to get out the gauge spiked to just under 300F. But I'm not sure how accurate the gauge is. The warning light never came on and the rover group I was with said it was fine.
