Sandy and why I love my disco
Power just came back about an hour ago, so I'm back online!
Thanks to my disco, I was able to make it to and from work every day over small downed trees, through rubbish, a few feet of sand across roads, and lots of water without a blink. I also had enough room in the trunk to transport 15 gallons of spare fuel, both tool set boxes, extra oil, coolant, radios, flares, 2 jacks, a jump box, a battery charger, cable puller, tie down straps, all my work gear, lights, 18v batteries for power tools, hatchet, crowbar, rope, halligan tool, fold out seat, sleeping bag, folding shovel, a few gallons of water, and still enough room for 3 passengers... 4 if stuffed... and outlets for 12v charging of laptops and cellphones. Not to mention mounted both a CB and VHF/UHF ham radio that does marine/GPRS/FMS and APRS to keep in touch with the world when the celltowers where down and relaying messages about power comming back on, traffic areas and places for food and fuel. Got to pull a pickup out of some sand and a truck out of the mud over a curb with just a hitch ring.
Truelly a jack of all trades. Try stuffin that **** in a Jeep!!
