I've noticed the doom and gloom too... Although this forum contains a wealth of good solid information, it seems like every other thread is someone bitching about how terrible Rovers are. It would be nice to read about more mods, and upgrades people are doing instead of seeing a ZOMG!!! Blown Headgasket thread every other day.

I've had a blown head gasket. I have also replaced saggy crappy shocks and now I ride a bomb-proof sweet lifted Rover that I love. Going to NY for Christmas from Mi and looking forward to hitting some snowy two-tracks up in the mountains.

Default You guys terrified me, but then I saw something worse...

....Porsche Cayenne owners sharing their stories on Rennlist. So I'm happy as a clam with the piddling little Discovery problems.

This is what the "roaming with friends" section is for, I wish more people used it.

keep in mind, people don't usually come to forums because their truck is running perfect. there are plenty of people out there with discoverys that are happy with them and don't get scared when something comes up.

The transmissions on the 2003/2004 trucks with the center dif are practically bullet proof. The torque building transmision is incredlble. I was 4 wheeling the other day, put the truck into low range and it climbed a hill without me touching the gas. 300 lb or torque at 2600 rpm is pretty god damn awesome.
