Scrap or sell
Hey guys, I've for a 99 Disco II that's on it's last leg (104000mi). It runs ok (engine light on) but the interior is bad and electronics are shot. Do you think it's even worth trying to sell to a used car lot, or should I part/scrap it?
Thanks
Thanks
If in the US or parts of Canada, check out www.statewidelist.com, put in Rover and it will show you all of them on craigslist in your state, sorted by metro area. So you can get an idea of prices.
But with low miles, you could fix it. What code goes what that check engine light? You can get seats from a junkyard for $23 - 35 each. Radio is also junkyard or after market. Or dismantlers (parts guys) on this forum.

Where are you located. Depending on where you are at, there will be plenty of people that will buy it if it's priced right.
But as mentioned above, with only 104K miles, there should be plenty of life left, unless the maintenance has been severely neglected.

yeah. it's over. Not even sure it has scrap value any more. I'll give you $100. ;-)
What's wrong with the electronics? A decently equipped 1999 DII should still be worth a fair amount of money. It might be worth it to fix.
It's funny, my 99 has a higher NADA value than my 2003.

Yeah and also the 03 is a base with no sun roofs and has higher miles than the 99 which has leather, sun roofs, rear a/c, SLS (for now), and jump seats.
Find a local auto parts store, and most will read your codes for free, to help them decide which parts you need. Get the numbers and post back, don't buy any parts just yet. A check engine light does not equal a dead engine. It usualy means an adjustment is needed, sometimes a small part like $50. And you can buy a set of canvas seat covers that the mudders use to cover up the leather when wading - would work for your beach cruiser.
