Default Seatbelt reminder noise wont go off

When I start my 96 Disco it beeps twice to remind of the seatbelt then it goes into a continuous Beep/buzz sound until the engine is turned off. Has anyone ever had this problem or a clue of where to begin. It seems to me it is an electrical problem, but not sure where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you have a short or failing witch to that seats seat belt. I would start be tracking down the connections.

I have the EXACT same problem. If I figure it out, I will let you know, if you fogure it out, PLEASE post up a response.

So far I have learned that the multifunction unit fuse is blown, when I replace it, it blows again. Is this the same with yours?
I replaced the MFU ($90) and it still does it. I tested all the other devices that mirrors, seats, windows, locks, vanity mirrors etc and everything works fine except for the rrrrrrriiiiiiinnnnnnnngggggg (constant)I am going outside to have a long look at the seatbelts now.

I don't think its the seatbelts. The problem I am having is when you put the key in, the chime goes off and on the third chime it goes into a constant bbbbbeeeeeeeeeepp. As stated above, I checked the fuse box cause i thought it was a short somewhere. All of the fuses are good except the multifunction unit fuse (#12). I replaced it and it blew again. I replaced the MFU($90) and the fuse, it blew again. so I am thinking the dead short is coming from something that the MFU controls, however, I cannot find a list of what the MFU controls anywhere.

I have pulled all of the rest of the fuses, all are good.

It is my wifes discovery I (99), that this problem is on. so I swapped her cars so I can troubleshoot it.

I noticed last night that the dome lamp blinks when I get out (after driving). I am thinking that this is also part of the problem.

If you have any suggestions, feel free to post up anything.

My next step it to go buy about 20-10 amp fuses and put a good one in the MFU and pull another (mirrors, windows etc...) to see if I can isolate the problem that way.
