Default Seeking replacement engine

Hey guys,

So the truck was overheating, did head gasket, still overheating, found coolant in cylinder three, has been ticking for years - guess the block is toast.

Have a parts truck - hoped to use the engine from it, it’s got metal through it, broken cam parts, rust inside - crappy.

Now I’m looking for a replacement engine. I’m in Eastern Canada - rough getting parts. I see Atlantic British offers this:

https://www.roverparts.com/Parts/9257BRHRK

Kinda pricey... USD $6,000 plus shipping.

Any other sources? What do you guys think?

Also, I noticed on the AB engine warranty page they say synthetic oil will void the warranty...isn’t that odd...?

Thanks as always! TDC

These engines were designed before synthetic oil was even invented is why its a bad idea but people do it anyway.

Look into Turner in the UK, shipping to Canada may be similar to shipping from the US.

When pulled only 120k! A bit optimistic there, but a good motor, and could easily be rebuilt out of the car, and the headers adapted for a little upgrade.

Buy an entire truck - Disco or P38. Running driving Disco's in southern states cost less than $4000, can be parted to recover the entire cost. Or call around to the wrecking yards in NJ/IL/MN/WI and find a good engine out of a rust bucket.
