Default Sell or part?

So we have a 2001 Disco II SE7 with 108000 on it now. Bought it in SoCal when we lived there 2 years ago, now its in Grand Rapids.

Head gaskets went on it around 95000. Had valve job done at the same time as the gaskets were done. Radiator had a leak last year so I had a new one put in.

Three amigos pop up now and again but never stay lit more than a cycle.

I let it sit for 3 months while I was waiting to get a replacement title from California, just started driving it again a few weeks ago with new Michigan tags and title.

CEL came on, code is P0305 Misfire in cyl 5. Reset it and it came back within a day. Kind of thinking its time to move on and we are looking at a couple other SUV's now.

Worth selling the Disco, or just parting it out now? Not really interested in putting any more into this have spent about 11k in the past 2 years.

Any thoughts?

You are like 20 miles from Spike, and he will be the first to tell you that misfires frequently clear up with plugs and wires. Hopefully he will crawl out from under his and toss in a comment. IMHO worth fixing, or selling. If he is out with SWMBO tonight you might want to PM him.

I would sell it or trade it in. The misfire could be as easy as the plug or wire on that cylinder. With the gaskets just done that truck is worth $4k to a rover fanatic

I'm in Grandville.
If you dont want to put anymore money into it then trade it in.
Otherwise I'll take it off your hands, think of it as a donation.

Huh? I was gonna offer $500 for it and I'd come get it.

As wonderful as a donation to the Spike charity sounds, I'm guessing the IRS wil dis-allow it....

I didn't trade it, but did buy an X5 yesterday, along with some plugs for the disco. Will figure out the misfire then put it up for sale. I'm thinking somewhat higher than the generous $500, but slightly lower than the 4k

you can use www.statewidelist.com to search all of craigslist by state, for rover, outputs by metro area, so you can see the current prices.

If you want a accurate resale price use these three sites, look up your dealer price and your trade in price, average them out.
Official Kelley Blue Book Values You Can Trust From kbb.com - Kelley Blue Book
N.A.D.A. Home Page
New Cars, Used Cars, Car Reviews and Pricing - Edmunds.com

And stay local when looking for your price, resale in NY is going to be different than GR.
