As much as possible, at the 2018 HCRR event I ended up in the hardcore group (only D2) and I kept up with em just fine. Since then I lifted it an additional 1inch (3inch total lift), and I hope the tail end will do a little bit better at clearing obstacles.

Hey Best4x4, nice truck you have there. I'm collecting parts to start my build. I bought 16" wheels. What size are your tires? I am undecided on 245 or 265.
And just curious, do you still own all of those Discos?

My Kalahari had the CDL nipple, and sorry the Kalahari is a limited # vehicle with limited # one of a kind parts which makes it totally stand out against a standard SE D2. I know this post is from 2011, but I just had to comment on this!

I have the original blackout on the hood. It's still in decent shape. My 97 XD on the other hand = it's hood blackout is getting rustic looking lol.

The black fuel door was an idea I had. My original fuel door paint had clear coat damage when I bought it from fuel spilling on it I guess over the years. I had a flawless Java Black fuel door on a parts truck and I thought it would be a nice contrast to the rest of the Kalahari. It's been installed on it since the day I brought it home.

I've had the chance to buy 2 other Kalahari's, but the sellers on both did not stand by their word. They sold them either as I was driving up to get it, or to someone else who offered 500.00 more even though we had already agreed on a price. I'd absolutely love a white one, but it would have to be in excellent shape because I would have to sell either my 04 D2 or my 99 D2 which has been amazing to own and drive. I really wish I had a GoPro at the time of Hurricane Harvey, because the 6 times I went thru water over the hood without a snorkel that 99 D2 kicked some serious *** and never even got a drop of water in it!
