I have an 01 Discovery with 79300 miles on it. The "Service Engine Soon" light came on, what is this light indicating? I changed the oil about 1000 miles ago. Any help would be appreciated.

It is a check engine light, you might want to read your owners manual.
You have an engine issue and should take it by one of your local auto parts store where they will read the codes for free, get the numbers and get back to us with them Today, in case it is a near major problem.

 

Thanks Mike, I will get down to the auto parts store today and get the codes read. I bought the vehicle used and it did not come with a owners manual. Are these available for purchase at the local dealer?
