Default Service Engine Soon - Code P1412

My service engine soon light came on yesterday. Auto Zone read the code for me and it's P1412 Aux Emmission Controls. I was told that it could be anything from the gas cap to a vacuum leak somewhere. He reset it so the light is off now, so I'm thinking I will let it go and see if it happens again before I do anything further. Does that sound reasonable, or should I be taking it in to have it checked out?
BTW, I think I'm going to buy a code reader.

I'd wait until it comes back on, sounds like something like an o2 senor fault... then again, I still dont own a land rover

I can't remember what that code is for, the good news is that it didn't come back, yet. Some faults that trigger the check engine light are because the ECU sees a quick qlitch that then goes away, that may be what you have experienced.

Code is : Secondary air system fault bank 1 Drive cycle D: Signal implausible.

Some of the things that can cause this. You may need a service manual.

Connector : C0879 ,C0636, C0572, C0641, C0563.

Fuse #37 (30amp)
Secondary air pump.
Secondary air valve.

I would get some dielectric grease and put it in all
the electric connectors.

Wow, thanks for all that info. I'll try to find a cheap service manual on Ebay. I'll let you guys know how everything goes.
