Default Shell rottela for winter

What do you guys use as for grade in the winter
I only see 15w40 or 5w40 in my local stores here in Canada
do you guys go with the 5 w ??

Seattle is further north than Toronto and I get on fine with the 15w40 here.

I’m in Ontario where sometimes get to -25 overnight
i don’t think you can compare

I use the 5w synthetic year round in nebraska but I am **** about chasing oil leaks.

Thinner oil is gonna leak more \ easier

Of the two mentioned, they are exactly the same when up to temp, so you shouldn't see a difference in how much they leak. I'd go with 5w if you see many mornings in the -.
