I recently installed Billsteins on all 4 corners of my 2003 S model. The fronts were the originals and pretty toasted, no rebound at all. The rears were identical Billies that I had installed at 50k or so. I notice much more damping going on but still seem to feel every small vibration in the road surface. When the car was still like new it had a taut ride but not jarring. remember S model, so it does not compare to a disco with bags.

I would suspect this means I need springs as well. I do a fair amount of logging road/mountain driving, but nothing extreme, and would still like a smooth freeway ride.

Would new springs make the ride even firmer or would they smooth out the road surface irregularities that I'm currently feeling?

I don't care about a lift (though i know new springs cause lift) so that doesn't factor into what springs I may be looking for.

Any thoughts or suggestions from anyone without bags as to which springs most compliment the Billsteins.

Thanks
