Shop unable to program remote w/o barcode??
Well working for a BMW/Mini dealer for the last 7 years and since the birth of the new Mini Cooper....I can tell you from experience that the barcode MUST remain intact or the key is useless from a remote standpoint. Unless something is different from the Valeo Land Rover key to the older-style Mini Valeo keys......but I just checked one and they look identical to me. The Mini has to be hooked up to the computer and the barcode entered off the tag before the car will accept the key. Like I said, I could be wrong about the Valeo Rover key but that's the way it is here at Mini.
you do need the barcode in order for the bcu to know the key's code... however, the bar codes are based off of the serial number of the remote, and can be retreved using a simple cypher. he now has the code and hopefully he'll respond and let us all know if it worked
I had 3 remote code 3f4343 312474 and 3f5b64
needs barcode.
please help me thank you.
no. you do need the bar code. the remote works on a rolling codes, and the barcode is the key to that code... however, they didnt know what they were doing, because you can get that bar code... open up the remote like you were changing the battery and take out the circuit board, carefully. youll see a little sticker with a 6 digit code on it, pm me that code here and ill get you the bar code you need
