No, it is a solvent that causes slight swelling in gaskets. It does not cause clogs or blockages. Claim to fame is rear main seals, a big hunk of rubber.

My daddy always told me you can buy a case of what leaks for less than the mechanic charges to look at it.

Any known issues with using this stuff? I found some reviews of it working great mostly but, a few said it made leaks worse.

see White Shepherd Stop Leak & Conditioner - Bob Is The Oil Guy

I have used it without problems, but on a non-Rover vehicle. Others have used it and like it. Have not heard of problems with the oil leak product on this forum, and as you know we are a community of owners that are faster typers than thinkers sometimes (and I be at the front of the pack).

However, with any mechanic-in-a-jar (not to be confused with a Jar Head mechanic) the range of situations where a fix will occur and and a wasted wallet drain is determined by the size of the leak to start with. Some owners, with homes in the gated community, have to park inside the garage. SWMBO is not happy with one dark spot on the floor. So a minor oil leak is a bigger PITA to them than to a bumpkin like me that parks outdoors, on the earth, where oil can attempt recycling on its own.

thanks for the reply. I understand, we live in the country on a gravel driveway and the oil drips help keep the weeds from growing through the gravel. Its such a minor seepage it seems like the kind of thing a swelled seal would fix. It seems like with rovers its better to research before doing.

Ours is an 1842 farm house next to the shade tree. I was born in Richmond, KY - my dad had a shop that built up engines for guys that wanted hot rod performance - the moonshiners. And he made the same mods to the revenue agent cars, money is money. We moved in the 50's. The internet makes this a small planet.
