Do you have a note from the previous owner?

I sent him a text to find out of he has paper work about the head gaskets. What is the deal with the "trail edition"? What makes it so special?

From what I can tell from other adds I've seen is that it's got the brush bar, and taillight guards. Might get more aggressive tire package from the factory?

So the "trail edition" is a trim package. It gave the car the factory brush guard and rubber mats through out.

Thanks for clarifying the trim package hawaiisurfer...

If it makes you feel any better, I was walking my dog the other night and I noticed a 'new' Bonita Grey '04 Disco in the neighborhood (within a 1 block radius, there are 3 of us with Disco IIs). The new owner just brought it home from a private seller in Houston; I of course stopped, chatted and explained the front driveshaft issue, HGs, etc.

Anyway, I asked him how much he paid...$18K!!! Now, it only had 39K miles, but I just about dropped a load when I heard him say that. He said he knew it was above blue book, but thought the low miles demanded a premium

thats about right...he can probably drive it zero issue free for years....thats like buying a 2 year old car...if someone only put on that type of milage it's been well taken care of.... on the other end of the spectrum you can buy one for $8-12k and spend another $8k over the next few years so i think he will come out ahead...

There also is nothing perfect at 80k milage especially a LR....80k is like a 55 year old man...it's only down hill from then on...and much closer to the bottom than top of the hill... ouuch....
