SLABS not going to sleep, ABS modulator space invader sounds
The issue is "the ABS is supposed to stop cycling after 10min of turn the truck off.The fault was the ABS would keep "working"[the mentioned space invader noises] and drain the battery". I want to fix my Rover rather than working around the problem. I have a spare SLABS version A unit that I am attempting to trace out what controls the relay to turn off the ABS modulator.
- I would love to have a copy of the TSB referenced for this problem
- Does anyone know where this diagram came from, I would like to see the whole thing https://landyzone.co.uk/attachments/...-b-jpg.141548/
- The work around https://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery...ery-drain.html

Timer chip? I've seen across the internet that various inputs like dirty signals from ABS wheel speed sensors, rough road sensor, and corroded grounds could be at fault. If you could provide any insight that'd be great
We are way out of my wheelhouse, I was mostly speculating on your internal relay idea. When the truck turns off it drops power to one of the slaps inputs, was thinking maybe there was a timer chip to let it time out and then turn off the relay.
One other clue perhaps, the air suspension options were notorious for running the battery down trying to keep the truck from sagging, especially with a spring conversion that was always trying to adjust ride height but couldn't do anything so it just kept cycling.

I'd heard the air suspension conversion idea and am not discounting it. My foxwell scanner shows that it's set for coil suspension, but does give a message when selecting '3-suspension type' that it's currently configured for air suspension and acts like it's reconfiguting for coil suspension. It just does this and never tries to change it back to air suspension. I believe my Rover and the 04 donor were originally COIL suspension units.
Currently installed SLABS is from an 04, the updated part number that controls traction control with the diff locker better. VIN in the SLABS does not match the ecm/bcu, but from what I can tell doesn't matter.
The bench SLABS is the original from my 99
