Default Slight Hesitation

On my way home from work today my 94 Disco hesitated slightly on two seperate occasions. The first was on the highway running about 65mph. The second was when I was running about 50mph. It felt like it feels when your running out of gas, but the hesitation did not last long. I have under a quarter of a tank right now so I know there's some gas in the tank. I know it's not good to let the gas get below a quarter of a tank due to the fuel pump. Anyway, can anyone tell me what may have caused this?

Could be any number of things. When was the last time you had a tune up?
What brand and grade of gas are you using?

Quit running under a quarter tank of gas if you want that pump to last.
So what sort of tune related work has been done and how long ago, how about your fuel filter????????????????

That is the last time I run under a quarter of a tank Mike, I promise. I changed the fuel filter about 500 miles ago, it was nasty. I'm about to do a 75k service on the engine. I'm gonna put on Magnecor wires and platinum 4 plugs a new rotor and cap. I'm going with Mobile 1 oil and Mobile 1 oil filter. Do you think that this will cure the hesitation? It was the first time it happened. Oh and as for gas I use Shell 93 Octane.

It is a good bet that the tune up will cure the problem, dont forget the airfilter either.

Thanks Spike, I hope it does cure the problem. The guy I bought the truck from was the original owner and gave me a new LR air filter. Would it be fine to use or should I go with a different brand?

LR brand is just fine. Any paper airfilter will work, just dont use a K&N air filter, their oil filters are fine, but not the airfilters.
