Managed to grind down all the rust and cleaned it up with acetone. Used the PoR15. I guess time will tell if it's any good. I like how it went down though.

Happy about replacing a lot of little clips and broken tabs. Used dynamat and some sound deadening material I had laying around. Overall worth the time and effort. Also pressure washing the carpets with degreaser got them back to black. Smells like a new car. Hopefully I won't have any holes in the floor anytime soon

 

For vibration deadening on a budget, there's a material available in the roofing section at Lowe's. I did my doors in it and the difference is night and day. I can't remember what it's called, but it's like 1/8 of tar on aluminum foil. Comes in a roll; way cheaper than dynamat and works just as welll.

Hahahahaha! You cannot possibly be talking about snow & ice?! Ever leave that in the sun aka heat? If the backing( “aluminum foil” ) should separates under heat - which it’s designed to do- you’d have a roofing tar which would be essentially impossible to cleanup.
